UVA hopes changes will translate to wins on the football field

The Virginia Cavaliers went five and seven a year ago, and missed out on the post-season.

The off-season saw a shake-up in the coaching staff in Charlottesville.  The question now is if the changes will translate into wins on the football field.

Al Groh and the rest of the Cavaliers got to work on making that happen Friday afternoon with their first practice of the fall.

Coach Groh's new offensive coordinator, Greg Brandon, will have a lot to say in the success of the Wahoos, as he installs his spread offense.

Unlike a year ago, UVA has plenty of experience coming back at quarterback.  Three players have started a game behind center for the Cavs.

But the one that everyone wants to see this year is Vic Hall. The former Gretna Hawk, who starred during his prep days in this type of offense for Rob Senseney, is working full-time at QB this fall after spending the majority of the past three seasons on defense.
