If you saw a steam locomotive going right through downtown Roanoke Friday afternoon, you're not losing it!

After sitting in the Virginia Scrap Iron and Metal Co. yard for almost 60 years, Engine #1151 was cut in half and trucked over to the transportation museum.  The move drew an audience of all ages.

The engine was built at Norfolk & Western Railway's Roanoke Shops back in 1911.

The museum's director, Bev Fitzpatrick, says it could be decades before the museum is able to properly restore the engine.
