Friday Night Bites: Buena Vista's Kenney's

News7's Natasha Ryan continues her journey across the region to find the best places to grab a bite to eat before the high school football games on Friday night.

Last week, we traveled to Buchanan to Knight's Spot Pizzeria. This Friday, Parry McCluer takes on Altavista. So the second edition of Friday Night Bites takes us to Buena Vista, land of the Kenney Burger.

Kenney's opened in Buena Vista in 1963. Since then, people have traveled from all across Virginia for the restaurant's sauce burgers.

"There's some people that come as far away as Richmond, and they'll take as many as 25 burgers with them because you can't get them anywhere else," said Beth Slagle, Kenney's owner.

"I've been coming here since I was five, rode my bike down here. Mentally, as much as anything, it's Kenney Burgers, it's just where you go," said Roy Mohler, Kenney's fan.

"Kenney Burgers was the place to be if you were a teenager and going right across the street to a football game," said Kim Jenkins, Kenney's fan.

And the tradition carries on.
