Women who don't have health insurance are getting help from Project Access of the Roanoke valley so they can get a mammogram.
Twenty-five women were able to get a free screening mammograms Wednesday onboard the U-V-A mobile digital mammography van.
This is the first of four events Project Access is offering to women who don't have health insurance.
If a woman has an abnormal mammogram after this screening, they will be referred to the program, Every Woman's Life, for follow-up care.
Project Access was able to offer this event thanks to a grant from the local affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the cure.
