The Cavaliers' Monica Wright has been selected as the conference's preseason player of the year.The ACC's women's basketball preseason poll was released Monday.
The Virginia Tech women were picked to finish in the conference basement, while Virginia has been tabbed to come in fourth in the league.
The Cavaliers' Monica Wright has been selected as the conference's preseason player of the year. A first team All-ACC selection, Wright set the UVa single-season scoring record with 696 points a year ago. She is on pace to become UVa's all-time scoring leader and needs 330 points to surpass Dawn Staley's school record of 2,135 points.
