The play "They Chose Me" was performed, which highlights the emotions children experience during the adoption process.Eight children were adopted into six local families in honor of National Adoption Day on Saturday.
Roanoke County Judge Phillip Trompeter finalized the adoptions.
After the official ceremony at the courthouse, the new families headed over to Andrew Lewis Middle School to celebrate.
The play "They Chose Me" was performed, which highlights the emotions children experience during the adoption process.
Some of the actors in the play are children who have been adopted.
More than 200 attended the celebration.
