Instead of going home and relaxing during Thanksgiving break, some Virginia Tech students went to work in New Orleans. Sixteen students paid their own way to assist with on-going relief efforts from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
For some, this was their second trip to the area. The group worked five solid days and gutted six homes. The trip was part of the YMCA at Virginia Tech's alternative spring break program. It has sent students on these types of trips for 20 years.
