
Two-thirds of Virginians in the WDBJ7 viewing area say Virginia should not issue a formal apology for slavery.
Some Virginia lawmakers have proposed a resolution apologizing for more than two centuries of slavery, which ended with the Civil War.
SurveyUSA polled 500 adults in the News-7 viewing area this week and found that 67% of them are against the idea of an apology. However a majority of blacks responding to the survey (58%) believe an apology is a good idea.
