Traffic is once again moving on Interstate 77 in Carroll County. An accident involving a car and a tractor trailer tied up traffic for most of the morning.
It happened in the southbound lanes at mile marker 20, north of Hillsville. Witnesses told authorities that a car traveling too fast ran up under a tractor trailer. Both vehicles wrecked and caught fire.
The driver of the car was airlifted to Roanoke Memorial Hospital. The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to the hospital and has been released.
