Former President Jimmy Carter apparently likes McDonald's.
He stopped in this afternoon at the fast food chain at Lakeside Plaza in Salem. Carter was accompanied by his wife and several secret service agents. He made a similar stop last Thursday at the McDonald's in Hillsville. It is unclear why he was in our area.
