Virginia Tech students honor their fallen French teacher

Once a week, seven of Nowak's former students visit Harding Avenue Elementary in Blacksburg. Once a week, seven of Nowak's former students visit Harding Avenue Elementary in Blacksburg.

Several Virginia Tech students have found a way to honor the memory of their fallen French teacher.

Jocelyne Courture-Nowak was killed in her classroom on April 16.  Her former students are now making sure her love of the French language is passed on to new faces.

Once a week, seven former students visit Harding Avenue Elementary in Blacksburg.  They teach french words and the culture to around 50 kids from grades K to 5.

The after school program is a way for Madame Couture's students to carry on her legacy.
