The Virginia Cavaliers' basketball team didn't always live up to coach Dave Leitao's expectations this past season. But one person he could never fault for a lack of effort was Lars Mikalauskas.
The big Lithuanian is scheduled to undergo much needed surgery to stabilize his left shoulder this Friday.
He missed 13 games this year after injuring the shoulder, but managed to play through the pain the final 11 contests of the season.
Mikalauskas will begin rehabbing the shoulder soon after the surgery. He is not expected to return to full contact basketball for coach Dave Leitao for five months.
