Salem residents may have new healthcare options

Salem residents may have some new healthcare options if a local developer has his way.

Dan Friesland and Trevor Norford are part of the team hoping to bring an Ambulatory Surgical Center to a spot which used to be a part of the Lutheran Children's Home.  They want to turn some land along Texas Street in Salem into the Elizabeth Medical Park.  Under the current proposal, Symbion, an organization based in Tennessee, would be brought in to help.

Developers say it would offer residents alternatives in local healthcare.

Delegate Morgan Griffith has already endorsed the proposal.
