A former Floyd County teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl was in court Friday morning.

Thirty-six-year-old Daniel Farmer pleaded not guilty to contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The judge found him guilty and sentenced him to six months in jail, but he appealed it.

His felony charge of sodomy will be held over to the December grand jury.

Farmer taught at Floyd Elementary school as a media specialist, but he resigned last month after his arrest.

Farmer was also an assistant girl's softball coach at Floyd County High School.

He's currently out of jail on $5,000 bond.
