Elephant ritual

Indian villagers perform a religious ritual over a dead wild elephant at Kiranchandra Tea garden some 30 kms from Siliguri. Indian forest officials had previously treated this injured wild elephant in the India-Nepal border area on August 15 for a bullet injury after its herd was attacked by Nepalese villagers in Nepal's Jhapa district.
