Matt Wieters did a fine job of keeping Chris Tillman focused after a five-run first inning Tuesday and swung the bat well all week. He closed out last weekend with a big three-run home run to help beat the A's, but delivered seven singles in 19 at-bats (.368) this past week in the games that he started behind the plate. Backup Taylor Teagarden (pictured) was robbed of a potential two-run double by Rays outfielder Matt Joyce on Sunday, but delivered his second big extra-inning extra-base hit later in the game. |
