WDBJ7's Mornin' crew stopped by On The Rise on Market Street in downtown Roanoke. They gave a few quick ideas to spruce up your holiday treats should you try to bake those goodies yourself.
The best tip baker Kristy Pilot gave was to take wet rosemary and drag it through granulated sugar to give the cake a snow frosted garnish.
In terms of business, owner Teal Batson says this is a big time of year for On The Rise. Given all the downtown events like Dickens of a Christmas and people being in the holiday mood, the foot traffic is high and people are looking for a warm and fresh treat.
