If electric cars are the future, one Roanoke company doesn't want to get lost in the past.
Williams Supply hosted city leaders and other groups to promote charging stations for electric vehicles today. Currently, there are two stations in Roanoke.
Williams managers say the mere presence of these charging stations could really get people thinking about going green.
"It would help drive industry. When people see chargers, they start thinking about electric vehicles in cars and trying to get away from the gasoline," said Lynn Smith with Williams Supply.
The charging stations on display today were from General Electric and featured three different models ranging from two to six thousand dollars.
