In the Old Testament of the Bible, Jerusalem's streets were paved with gold.
A Roanoke business owner is trying to have her floor paved with copper.
A Little Bit Hippy is moving from its current location in Towers to the old Ram's Head Bookstore. Owner Heidi Bundy said she wanted to do something exciting and different with the concrete floor. So she decided to cover it with pennies and she's going to need 525-thousand of them.
Heidi Bundy is not taking any shortcuts though, saying "It would have been very easy to just go to the bank and say we need 525-thousand pennies. But it's more fun to get folks to be able to get folks to donate it and get names and give credit."
Bundy says it's actually going to be cheaper to line the floor with more than 5-thousand dollars worth of pennies than to hire somebody to tile it.
She has 8-thousand pennies so far, that leaves 517-thousand to go.
