Roanoke area businesses competing for $250,000 grant

What would you do if someone gave you $250,000?

That could be a reality for some area businesses.


"Mission: small business" is a nationwide grant program from Chase that will give 12 small business owners a quarter of a million dollars each.

The businesses must meet several critieria like business experience and community involvement to be considered.

A Little Bit Hippy in Towers Mall hopes to expand its business to be more involved in the community.

"The bigger shop would actually be three times the size of this one just because of the parties and activities we do with the community," said Heidi Bundy, store owner. "We want to be able to have more space."

Each business must receive 250 votes to qualify for the next round.
