Linkin Park

Linkin Park tours behind its new album, "Living Things," which has critics giving the nu-metal and rap-metal pioneers the "they're back" thumbs-up after the band's 2010 Radiohead-like "A Thousand Suns" (not saying it was a bad thing, just a different, experimental thing). If you weren't keeping up with the changing styles and sounds, the concert will be a reminder, with Linkin Park starting at the beginning with favorites like "Faint," "With You" and "Papercut," then working up the set list to the new stuff.

Why go: The Honda Civic Tour's co-headlining format was so successful last year (Blink-182 and My Chemical Romance were last year's co-headliners), it continues this year with Incubus co-headlining with Linkin Park; Mutemath also performs.

Reconsider: You've never been a trend follower, and it seems everyone is getting on the Linkin Park bandwagon.

6:30 p.m. Friday at First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre, 19100 S. Ridgeland Ave., Tinley Park; $30-$120; livenation.com
