Fatal fire scene

Boards cover the front of the house in the 1000 block of Irwin Avenue in Des Plaines, Ill., the scene of a fatal fire that killed Sandra Lupy. Des Plaines firefighters found the 48-year-old woman in the basement of the split-level home. Firefighters tried to revive Lupy, but she was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Cook County medical examiner's office.
