Victoria Shirley is an AP award winning journalist and the lead investigative journalist at WDBJ7.
Victoria is a born and raised Virginian, but spent the past more than a half-decade in Louisiana launching her journalism career.
Prior to moving to Roanoke, she served as the chief investigative journalist at CBS affiliate KSLA News 12 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She helped the station launch the first investigative team they've had in decades. Victoria also produced and anchored the weekend morning show for several years.
She got her start in broadcast journalism at CBS affiliate KNOE 8 News in Monroe, Louisiana where she specialized in covering local government and covering the trials of government leaders accused of political corruption.
Victoria is a 2011 graduate of Christopher Newport University where she served as the Editor in Chief of the campus newspaper The Captain’s Log and the founder of the online news program CNU TV. She is excited to be back in her home state and in the scenic region of Virginia’s Blue Ridge.
Victoria is a proud member of the Investigative Reporters & Editors organization as well as the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.
