Pet Stories: Nancy

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) Nancy is a 3-month-old kitten whose entire litter was relinquished as itty-bitty babies at the pound.

Melinda Rector, an administrator at the pound, fostered them until they were old enough to have surgery.

The Roanoke Valley SPCA stepped in to help, and pulled Nancy and her siblings into the shelter. All of her siblings have been adopted, only she remains!

Nancy’s already been altered, microchipped and is up to date on vaccines for her age. Because she is so young, she’ll need booster shots in the next few months at her new veterinarian’s office.

Come by and see them today from Noon to 6pm.

If you can't visit today, please consider stopping by tomorrow between Noon and 6pm for the Roanoke Valley SPCA’s open house.

There will be holiday adoption specials on some of our long term residents, yummy baked goods, and most exciting, photos with Santa Paws. Photos do REQUIRE pre-registration and you can find information on how to do that on their website. The cost is $20 per session and includes a photo and frame.

If you're interested, Santa Paws will be arriving at the shelter at 12:30. The choir from Hollins University will also be there to welcome him in.
