Pet Stories: Snow White

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) Meet Snow White, a 3-year-old Border Collie Mix Momma Dog in need of foster. She came in with her seven babies, all named after the dwarfs, and they have found foster, but she is still here.

She needs a two week foster to recover from nursing her puppies, and then return to the shelter so that she can be spayed. She’s looking for her happily ever after!

If you’re interested in learning more about Snow White, or the foster process, call the Roanoke Valley SPCA at 540-339-WAGS or .

While Denise Hayes was in studio with Snow White, she talked about the upcoming Tail Chaser 5k.

Here’s what she had to say:

On March 24th we will be holding our 6th Tail Chaser, a 5K run and 1mile walk to support the pets at our shelter. The event is held at Wasena Park and you can register by visiting our website. Dog and humans can participate and I want to encourage everyone to register by March 10th to get the early bird discount.

This year our mobile clinic will be hosting a microchip clinic from 9am to Noon. No appointment is necessary, but you must bring proof of a current rabies vaccine. Cost for the chip is only $15.

I also want to let everyone know that they can once again purchase a Memory Mile Bone in advance for $25. You can then take the bone home, decorate it in memory of a beloved pet. Then return the bone to the shelter before the event and we will line the 1-mile memory walk with these beautiful dedicates to your beloved pets. After the event is over, individuals are welcome to pick up the bones they made and take them home to use in their garden or flower bed.

This is just the beginning of all that is happening at Tail Chaser, so visit our website at for all the details!
