MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) Ten people in the Martinsville area have been arrested on drug charges from a drug warrant sweep, according to the Martinsville Police Department.
On Monday, the Martinsville Grand Jury handed down 62 indictments. Twenty-eight of them were related to the distribution of illegal drugs.
On Thursday, officials from the Martinsville Police Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, Patrick County Sheriff’s Office, the Virginia State Police and the United States Marshal’s Service, the Martinsville Sheriff’s Office and the Martinsville-Henry County 911 Center set out to make arrests. As of Thursday, 25 of the 28 indictments were served.
Additional charges are pending since Thursday’s arrest lead to discovering additional narcotics and weapons.
