CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) A Christiansburg man voted Tuesday in his 20th Presidential election. That's right, he's been voting since 1936 when Franklin Delano Roosevelt was re-elected to his second term.
George Gammon is 102-years old but that didn't stop him from walking into Christiansburg Middle School to cast his ballot for this year's Presidential Election.
Gammon was as excited Tuesday as he was on November 3, 1936 when he cast his first ballot.
When he pulled up to the school, volunteers offered to let him participate in curb-side voting.
But his caregivers said no. It was important for him to walk in and cast his ballot like everyone else.
George admitted he can't walk very well, so he needed some help, but it was well worth it to make his voice heard again.
"I never miss a vote," he said. "I think it's my duty to the state and to the United States."
George didn't discuss who he voted for.
His caregivers said next up for George is his 103rd Birthday in February.
And God-willing he'll be back again in four years submitting his 21st Presidential Election vote.
