29-year-old motorcyclist killed in Lynchburg crash

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) - Lynchburg Police are investigating a fatal crash.

Officials say it happened Wednesday around 6:45 p.m. in the 2300 block of Concord Turnpike.

According to police, a woman was driving a station wagon East on Concord Turnpike when it met a motorcycle in a curve of the road. They say the motorcycle was traveling West.

They say the motorcycle - operated by 29-year-old Jonathan Lindsay, of Lynchburg - veered into the eastbound lane and collided with the station wagon.

Police say Lindsay died at the scene of the crash.

Concord Turnpike was closed for about three hours while officials were at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation by the Lynchburg Traffic Safety Unit.
