Fourth of July Weekend Planner

(WDBJ7) It's the Fourth of July holiday weekend, and there are lots of fun events happening. Here's your weekend planner.

Thomas Road Baptist Church's Celebrate America is Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be a huge water slide, music, vendors, and of course fireworks. Admission is free, so make sure to bring the whole family out to the Lynchburg campus for this annual tradition.

There's also an Independence Festival Friday night at Franklin County High School. There will be food, raffle drawings, games and a firework show. It all happens from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

1776 - A Musical is Friday night and Saturday night at Poplar Forest in Bedford. On Friday the show starts at 7 p.m. and on Saturday the show is at 10 p.m. The show is a musical based on the events leading up to the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Admission is $17.76 for adults, students are $13 and kids five and under are $4.

The 6th Annual Moneta FireWORX Fest is on Saturday from noon to 10 p.m. There will be bands, vendors, helicopter rides and more. Admission is $10, but parking is free. All proceeds will go to the Moneta Fire Department.

There's a grand re-opening movie event on Saturday at the Historic Masonic Theatre in Clifton Forge. The Wizard of Oz will be playing at 10 a.m. and again at noon. Everyone's invited for the free event.

The #OneVirginia Flood Relief Benefit Concert is happening on Saturday at the Bull & Bones Brewhaus & Grill in Blacksburg starting at 6 p.m. This is a fundraising event for the communities impacted by the flooding in West Virginia. There will be music, with a $5 cover. Donations of money and supplies will also be accepted. The goal is to raise $3,000, which would be enough to fill a tractor-trailer full of supplies.

The TAP Hope Fest is on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Elmwood Park in Roanoke. There will be music, food, crafts, and a kid’s zone. Tickets are $45 -- all proceeds will go to continue TAP's mission to help families get economic and personal independence.

There's an Independence Day Fireworks Show Sunday night in Bedford.
Parking is available at Liberty Lake Park. Handicap parking is at the Bedford Visitor's Center. The fireworks will start at dusk.

Auburn Hills Golf Club in Riner is hosting its 3rd Annual Independence Celebration on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Fishing for kids is available starting at 3 p.m., and the pool will be open all day. The live music starts at 6 p.m. and the fireworks will begin at 9:45 p.m. There's a $5 cover fee for anyone over the age of five.

There will be fireworks at the Salem Fair on Monday night at about 9:30 p.m. They'll be launched behind Salem Memorial Ballpark. Parking and admission are free at the Salem Civic Center. There are rides, games and food available at the fair -- but remember that they do cost extra.

There's a 4th of July Celebration Event on Saturday at Mountain Lake Lodge in Pembroke. A barbecue dinner starts at 5 p.m., live music begins at 6:30 p.m. and the fireworks will start as soon as it gets dark.
Admission is free, but please bring your own chairs or blankets.

The Buchanan Community Carnival starts on Saturday at 1 p.m. There will be all kinds of activities, including rides, music, and of course lots of food. It's all happening at the Buchanan Town Park. And if you miss the fun don't worry - the carnival goes through next Saturday.

The Christiansburg Fourth of July celebration begins at 10 a.m. Monday. There will be a festival during the day and fireworks at Christiansburg High School's football field at the end of the night. The football stadium opens for fireworks at 8:30 p.m., with fireworks starting around 9:15 p.m.

Celebration 2016 is happening at Martinsville Speedway on Monday, the Fourth of July. Carnival rides are happening from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. The Rogues play at 6:30 p.m. and the Gatlin Brothers take the state at 8:30 p.m. Their performance is followed by fireworks.
