Alleghany County prepares land for truck stop

LOW MOOR, Va. (WDBJ7) They’re preparing for big things by Interstate 64 near Clifton Forge.

This land is being graded and leveled for a new Love’s truck stop at Low Moor, next to Exit 21. They’ve also been working with VDOT on improvements to the exit.

“The property was zoned for the use -- was immediately adjacent to the interstate interchange, so we thought it was a good use," says Alleghany County Administrator Jon Lanford. "Traffic can move easily on and off the interstate and not have to move through any congested areas."

The next step is to start work on buildings. If all goes to plan, they hope to open early next year.
