ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) If you’re a choco-holic in Roanoke, you’re in luck! A new chocolate lounge is officially open downtown.
Altus Chocolate held a ribbon cutting Wednesday afternoon. The store, modeled after the movie “Chocolat”, is a small-batch, bean-to-bar company. They offer fondue, pastries, gelato, coffee and of course, chocolate!
"This spot is just beautiful. It's a gorgeous, historic building, and it's perfect for what we wanted to do. So, we fell in love with the spot, and decided to come to Roanoke first because of this, and then we did our research. Downtown Roanoke seems like it's a really thriving place, that's a great place to start a business," said co-owner Carl Matice.
And if you’re a true chocolate lover, Altus doubles as a learning center where you can learn about the origins and varieties of cacao.
Their other store is located in Lynchburg.
