Danville police make arrest in armed convenient store robbery

DANVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) Danville police arrested a 20-year-old man in connection to an armed robbery that happened at the E-Z Stop Market #2 on Wednesday.

Danville resident Mustafa Abdurrahman Manigo is charged with robbery and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Police arrested him early Thursday morning without incident.

Manigo is being held at the Danville City Jail without bond.

Danville police say an armed man robbed a convenience store late Wednesday night.

It happened at the E-Z Stop Market #2 on Memorial Drive around 11:30 p.m.

A shirtless man with a cloth covering his face pulled a gun out and demanded the store clerk fill a backpack with money, according to police.

The robber ran away in an unknown direction.

No one was hurt.
