Arrest made in South Roanoke County burglary

ROANOKE CO., Va. (WDBJ7) A man has been arrested in connection to a break-in in South Roanoke County.

Mark Edwards, 44 of Roanoke, is charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny for a break in at at home on Cotton Hill Road.

Police say they found items in Edwards possession that were taken from that home.

Police are now investigating whether Edwards is connected to a string of other burglaries in Southwest Roanoke County. As WDBJ7 has reported several homes were broken into in the county over the past several weeks and more than $60,000 in jewelry was taken. The break-ins all happened during the day.

According to police after Edwards was recognized in a vehicle, the vehicle was stopped and he was arrested on a warrant out of Roanoke City.
