MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ7) An arrest warrant is revealing new information about the crash at Martinsville Speedway that injured 22 people Sunday.

Gary Edem, 65, of Fairfax, has been charged with reckless driving and is free on an unsecured bond of $7,500.

According to the arrest warrant, Edem told an investigator that his foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator.

A witness told an investigator that Edem said a curse word and hit the gas, striking the pedestrians.

The witness took the keys out of the vehicle and detained Edem.

Virginia State Police said Wednesday that they have not determined an exact motive, and the investigation is still ongoing.

All 22 people who were hurt are expected to be OK.
