Authorities find a tiger cub packaged in mail room in Mexico

TLAQUEPEQUE CITY, JALISCO, MEXICO -- On Wednesday, Mexican authorities came across a package containing a small Bengal tiger cub that had been sedated and put in a container to be shipped across the country!

A sniffer dog found the tiger in a bin that was being shipped from the western state of Jalisco to the central state of Queretaro.

Photographs and video released by the Mexican Federal Police and Mexico's Federal Agency of Environmental Protection (PROFEPA) show the tiger nestled in a blue plastic container before being lifted up by officials who took it into custody.

PROFEPA wildlife agents determined the cub was dehydrated and underweight.

It was taken to a local wildlife protection center.
