UPDATE: Salem fire damages more than 60 storage units; vehicles and other belongings

SALEM, Va (WDBJ7) -- UPDATE

According to a release by Salem Fire-EMS, the fire at Apperson Self-Storage destroyed one of the facility's buildings, affecting about 64 different storage units.

When crews arrived, heavy fire was coming from several units at the complex.

The fire damaged more than 60 units and their contents, including several cars and motorcycles.

Nobody was injured in the fire.

ORIGINAL STORY

Crews are working a fire at Apperson Self-Storage on Apperson Drive in Salem.

The call came in before 11:00 p.m. on Monday night.

No word yet on any injuries or what caused the fire.
