BEDFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) Bedford County leaders are deciding whether to upgrade a county office building.
County staff recommends spending $3,549,000 to renovate the former county nursing home complex on Falling Creek Road.
Vacated as an assisted living facility when a new county nursing home was constructed ten years ago, the building currently houses offices for Bedford County Parks and Recreation and the Virginia Cooperative Extension.
Price Buildings submitted a low bid of $2,986,000 for the renovation May 3. County staff has factored in additional costs they believe will drive up final expenses of construction.
Supervisors are expected to vote Monday night on whether to move ahead with the project.
