BEDFORD, Va. (WDBJ7) Taking care of everyday tasks should now be a little easier for one Bedford mother.
The Bedford Pregnancy Center surprised one of its former clients with a car Thursday afternoon as a graduation present.
Amanda Kancianic just earned a degree in Special Education from Lynchburg College. Her old car died earlier in the semester with almost 300,000 miles traveled.
Friends were able to give her rides to the college so that she could finish her classes on time.
"With everyday life like going to the grocery store, now I don't have to rely on rides. I can go myself," Kancianic told WDBJ7.
Kancianic sought help from the pregnancy center when she was 16 and became pregnant.
The center offered guidance that helped her finish high school and college. Her son is now 4.
