BEDFORD, Va. Meals in a restaurant will cost a little more soon in the town of Bedford.

Bedford's town council approved a half-cent increase in the meals tax as part of next year's budget Tuesday night. Council members Beck Stanley and Jim Vest voted against the measure.

Increased revenues from the tax increase will go to an economic development project, which will offer grants to business owners who want to locate in Bedford's downtown and manufacturing areas.
