ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) - It was a dreary day outside in Roanoke on Saturday, but inside the Berglund Center, it was a world of pure imagination.
Big Lick Comic Con took over the special events center. Dozens of vendors showed off their comic book collections, games and collectibles. There was even a catwalk for cos-players to show off their creative costumes.
"Usually a lot of people come here just to have fun and what not, and that should be what it's about right?" said Nicolas Virto.
"I really liked the stage where all the people came out and get to see my favorite superheroes!" said young fan Esther Blount.
Actor Sean Gunn was also invited to be part of this year’s con. He’s best known for his roles in Gilmore Girls and Guardians of the Galaxy. He says the best part is meeting the fans.
“I do what I do so that people will see my work and enjoy it," Gunn told WDBJ7. "So getting to have contact with all those people and see what they’re saying about the movies and what they like about them is great.”
According to the organizers, this years con featured more than 60 vendors and that all of the VIP tickets sold out.
