Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Virginia celebrates 20 years

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) The Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Virginia was celebrating 20 years of helping kids grow Wednesday night.

The organization held it's annual dinner in the Hotel Roanoke.

It was a chance for people to support the growth of kids in our area.

And with a goal of $20,000, for 20 years, two organizations, Life Ring Foundation and Evolution HR, committed a matching bid for whatever was raised.

Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Virginia Executive Director Michelle Dykstra said, "Which enables us to be sustainable, it enables us to serve more students, more youth throughout our region here in Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Montgomery County, Franklin County, and beyond."

Dykstra said they'll know how much was raised tonight by Thursday.

Then the organization matches the bids along with the two companies. So they could raise as much as $60,000.
