Brian Hemphill becomes seventh president of Radford University

Brian Hemphill officially starts his role as president of Radford University on Friday.

Hemphill is Radford's seventh president. He previously served as the president of West Virginia State University.

Before being president of WVSU, Hemphill served in senior student affairs leadership positions at several educational institutions.

Hemphill holds a Ph.D. in higher education administration and policy studies from the University of Iowa, a master's degree in journalism and mass communication from Iowa State University of Science and Technology and a bachelor's degree in organizational communication from Saint Augustine's University.
