ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) The holidays are truly a time for people to come together, and Total Action for Progress, or TAP, is helping connect the community with some caroling.

They'll be "Bridging the Community Gap" on the Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge from 6 to 8 o'clock Friday evening.

TAP along with the Melrose-Rugby Neighborhood Forum Inc., Loudon-Melrose Neighborhood Organization Inc., and Hurt Park Neighborhood Alliance Inc., are hoping people come out for some singing, but also to really show the community that everyone can be together, peacefully.

They're also asking for canned food donations which will be distributed to families who live in the three neighborhoods who are in need.
