Christiansburg Police Department adds third floor, more working space

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) A new expansion at the Christiansburg Police Department gives investigators more room to get their job done.

The department grew vertically, adding new rooms in what was an unfinished third floor.

It increases the work space to more than 62 hundred feet, and has room for 13 staff members, two interview rooms, an evidence room, and bunk spaces.

"We have the technology to branch out and work with other organizations. And we have our units together. Before we were spread out, at times we did not have the room to operate efficiently today we do and we're very appreciative of that," said Chief Mark Sisson with the CPD.

The Criminal Investigative Division and Interview Crimes Unit now have their own spaces on the third floor. The expansion cost just over one million dollars.
