CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) A little rain isn't stopping the Fourth of July celebration in Christiansburg today.
The downtown festival kicked off for the second year this morning complete with a band, vendors and children's activities.
Town officials say some vendors didn't want to risk the weather, but locals are flocking downtown.
Although it's the second year that the event has been held downtown, this is the 18th year the town had a town-wide Independence Day celebration.
The festival continues until 4 p.m. and fireworks begin at Christiansburg High School at 9:15 p.m., weather permitting.
