CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. (WDBJ7) A Christiansburg man isn't letting frequent hospital visits stop his popular holiday display.
Daniel Galliher has been growing his display at 860 Montgomery Street for 20 years.
There are characters from several beliefs and backgrounds so no one feels left out.
But Galliher suffers from Chronic Crohn's Disease and has to be in the hospital at least twice a week.
"I just like doing it, it's that time of year," he said. "Like I said I started out with one thing, and I've been doing it for 20 years."
Whitney Dunbar who helps Galliher set up said, "Even though he's sick, even though he doesn't feel well, he'll go up there and sit at that building, in his little chair, and point me in the direction that I need to go and it makes him happy, he likes doing it."
Galliher says he spends $2,000-$5,000 every year on new additions to the display.
