The entire school took a field trip to Regal Cinemas in Christiansburg Friday morning to see the movie "Hidden Figures."

It was part of the school's Black History Month recognition. Students and teachers felt encouraged after seeing the movie.

"I feel very inspired. I can be myself and I can do whatever I dream," seventh grade student Caitlin Sisson said.

Teachers centered their afternoon classes on activities and lessons related to the movie.

"It's a great movie just to help you remember that you can believe in yourself and it doesn't really matter where you are in life right now, that you can go somewhere," eighth grade teacher Sheri Edwards said.
