Christmas decor keeps landscapers in business during slow winter months

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ7) It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas -- thanks in large part to the crews spreading holiday cheer.

Pofessional crews are setting up holiday lights across the area, and the work is a big boost for the landscaping businesses during what would ordinarily be their slow period.

Roanoke Landscaping's owner, Randy Brannan, says work used to die down between Thanksgiving and March, but they started doing these holiday displays to keep crews busy.

"We've progressed and grown a little bit with it every year, and now it's probably 10-12% of our yearly business," Brannan said.

Brannan says he has most of the decoration jobs already scheduled, and in January they repeat the whole routine to take them down.
