CLIFTON FORGE, Va. (WDBJ7) The Clifton Forge Rescue Squad lost its effort in town council to move their station.

The Council voted 4 to 1 against the squad's plans to build a new station on the property formerly used as a transmitter for a local radio station.

"Right now, what we're looking at is either remodeling our current building, or there is talk from the town council at our last meeting that if we do approach them again with a piece of the property from the commercial place that they're building, that we might get approval to sell us that property," said Stephen Bennett, First Lieutenant for the squad.

The newest part of their current building is over 20 years old, and they believe the older part dates back to the 1940s.
