CARIBBEAN (WDBJ7) - Country star, Kenny Chesney announced that his island home in the U.S. Virgin islands has been completely destroyed due to Hurricane Irma.

Irma, a nearly 400-mile-wide storm, made landfall in Florida early on Sunday morning, but the hurricane's power can be seen after the destruction it left in the Caribbean.

Chesney was not at his home when the hurricane hit.

In a tweet, Chesney posted a message on hurricane Irma saying, "I don't know right now how we're going to do this. But I want to help. I want to enlist my friends to figure out the best ways to make a difference."

Chesney has even launched a foundation called “Love for Love City” that will donate to those affected by Hurricane Irma.
